Create a Campaign

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When we click on the '+ Create campaign' button a pop-up window appears from where we can choose to create a campaign from scratch or create it from a template.

Each campaign is created in 4 parts: Sequence, Audience, AI Agent, Settings.

Sequence

In this first step we define which identity will be linked to the campaign, and we structure the flow of conditions and actions that will be programmed.

The first thing to do is to select an identity in the panel that appears on the right. We can also select the audience we want in the campaign, although it is not necessary because it can be done in the second step below.

For the audience we can select a list, or individual contacts.

Then click on 'Save and close' at the bottom right and we can continue with the definition of the campaign flow. To do this, start by clicking on the '+' symbol in the center of the screen.

This gives us the option to add any of the actions or any of the possible conditions:

  • Actions

    • Visit Profile

    • Like Last Post

    • Send LinkedIn Connection

    • LinkedIn Message

    • LinkedIn Inmail

    • LinkedIn Attachment

    • LinkedIn Voice Message

    • Email

    • Task

    • Add to another campaign

  • Conditions

    • Is already a connection

    • Has been contacted

    • Has LinkedIn Profile

    • Has Professional Email

    • Has Mobile Phone

    • Custom condition

It is advisable to start with a condition, such as 'Has LinkedIn Profile' or 'Has Professional Email', because if we start with an action directly as 'Email' or 'LinkedIn message', and that lead does not have Email or LinkedIn Profile, it will give an error and will be blocked. On the other hand, if we add the condition, two branches are displayed, one in case it is fulfilled and the other in case it is not: 'Yes' or 'No'. So the good thing is to take advantage of the conditions to establish different workflows according to each evaluation, that is to say, to define a decision tree.

Once we have defined the condition (not always necessary but recommended and logical), if for example we add the action 'LinkedIn Message' in the branch of the condition evaluated to 'Yes', it adds directly above the action a condition of 'Accepted LinkedIn connection' and another one above that of 'Send LinkedIn Connection'. This is because to send a message it must be our connection, unlike a 'LinkedIn InMail' that can only be used by identities that have LinkedIn Premium with Sales Navigator.

Any action or condition has three little dots on its card, if we click on them we can do three things:

  • Move this step

  • Clone this step

  • Delete this step

If we choose Move or Clone, we have to choose where in the tree we want to place the action or condition. That's why we get options with 'Place here'.

For almost all actions, when we click on an action, a right side panel appears to configure it.

  • If it is 'LinkedIn Message', or even 'Send LinkedIn Connection' with a note, the option is given to choose between two methods:

    • Generate with AI → In this case we select any of the AI Variables we have created to be the message that is sent.

    • Manual → In this case write a text that will always have the same structure. The message can even be the same, although it can be customized with variables such as {First Name}, etc. LinkedIn does not allow sending hyperlinks, so we will be able to insert URLs in the messages but not as hyperlinks.

  • If it is a 'LinkedIn InMail' it is also configured as a message but adding a subject.

  • If it is a 'LinkedIn Attachment', it also gives us the option to choose between two methods:

    • Your attachment → Attach a file which can be JPG, PNG, or PDF.

    • AI Image → We describe in a prompt the image we want the AI to generate. Optionally we can attach a reference image, JPG or PNG or from URL. We can see a preview to see if we like the result.

  • If it is a 'LinkedIn Voice Message' we have to upload the audio file or record it directly from Genesy.

  • If it is an email, we can send a manual message or one with AI:

    • Generate with AI → Select the variable you want to send as the body of the email. Important: specify in the email prompts that the signature of the identity is not generated, since this signature is automatically included from the one configured in the identity itself. You must also include a Subject, so that the email is sent with a subject. If just after that email we send another email, if we do not include a Subject in that later email, the previous email will be taken as the original one and it will continue in the same thread. But if we include a subject the email will be sent from a new thread.

    • Manual → We write a subject and the body of the message, which can refer to variables. We can add hyperlinks, to do this we select the text and click on the clip icon to insert the URL, or directly write a new text once the icon is clicked and insert the URL as well. We can also add images with the image icon or with a paste from the clipboard inside the text box. We can also attach a file from the file icon. And we can even write the message in HTML by clicking the code icon.

Audience

In this second step we add the contacts we want to the campaign. We can select a list or individual contacts.

AI Agent

In this third step we can enable the AI Agent that will follow the conversation once the campaign ends when the lead has responded to one of the messages in the sequence. At the bottom left there is the 'Enable' button to activate it. We can test by typing responses simulating that we are the lead.

Next to it there is another button, 'Edit prompt' to edit the default prompt. We can even select any template we have created from AI Playbook → AI Campaigns.

Settings

Finally the fourth and last step is related to the campaign settings.

This configuration has several aspects or fields to configure:

  • Tags (optional) → To help in the identification of the campaign.

  • Prioritization → We can choose High, Medium or Low, and that will determine the preference within the server queue limit.

  • Contacts CRM Sync → 'No', 'Yes', or 'Only when a contact replies'. This determines whether to export the contact to the CRM or not, and if yes, whether only when it has replied.

  • Conversations CRM Sync → 'No', 'Yes', or 'Only when a contact replies'. This determines whether to export the conversation messages to the CRM or not, and if yes, whether only when you have replied.

  • Skip contacts with prior conversations → By activating this option we avoid contacting again those contacts who were previously contacted by the same identity from a previous campaign.

  • Email Inbox → In case we have several emails associated to the identity linked to the campaign, we can set whether to use one of them specifically or use them all randomly. This is so because there are campaigns with which you are interested in using one for formality or other issues.

  • Email tracking

    • Track email opens → track if the contact has opened the email sent to him/her.

    • Track link clicks → monitors how many times the lead has clicked on a link attached to the email.
